Course Description:
A course suited to students of all levels. This course focuses on mastering traditional skills while introducing elements for personal exploration. The basic concept of life drawing is to provide a systematic introduction to the art of drawing. While the finished composition is not stressed, in pushing for greater clarity in communicating their concept of the figure, it is in the best interest of participants to develop completed works of art. Thus, throughout the course exercises and experiments will be offered to foster a feeling for media while providing a framework for developing individual ideas and approaches with expression as the goal. As suggested by the extensive list of supplies, developing sensitivity for media is as important as the development of productive attitudes toward drawing.
