On Saturday, March 8th at the Wells Community Hall, we’ll celebrate the first Eat Your Art Out! Dinner. This will feature a full Indian meal (head chef: Sharon Brown), music, film, raffle and more.
March will also be an opportunity for people outside of Wells to come together to have their own Eat Your Art Out! dinner in support of Island Mountain Arts. Here’s how you can host a dinner:
Invite friends, family and neighbours for dinner in your home, studio, or community hall. Offer a simple gathering for two or more, a pot-luck dinner, a BBQ, or share a special family favourite. Add a goods and services auction or keep it simple.
We invite hosts to ask their guests to make a donation to IMA, perhaps what they might spend if going out to dinner. You can sell tickets in advance, or take donations at the door, or come up with other ideas to collect contributions – it’s up to you.
If you’d like to do something creative, you might consider:
• An Indian meal that echoes the Eat Your Art Out! Dinner in Wells;
• Progressive dinners traveling course by course from one home to the next;
• Appies and wine tasting;
• A painting or musical theme, like Foods of the Impressionists, or a Blues in the Dark meal
• A pot-luck dinner, or
• Making your own sushi.

Please Register Your Dinner
If you’d like to host a dinner in your community, please register your dinner with us. Complete the “Dinner Registration Form” (in PDF or Microsft Word version) and e-mail it to info@imarts.com. We’ll keep track of dinner locations and post information on our website – we’d love to receive photos and stories from your dinner.
Everyone attending a fundraising dinner will be entered in a draw to win a limited edition Toni Onley silkscreen. We’ll send you a ‘Guest List Sheet’ – return it completed so that we can include each of your guests in the raffle which will be drawn April 7, 2008.
In advance of your dinner, we’d like to mail you some information about IMA, so that your guests know their contributions are supporting the various programs of IMA. If you like, we’ll also include some unique gifts that you can use as silent auction items or door prizes: e.g. a selection of Nude Gold Rush History Cards, Toni Onley cards or poster, an Almost Home CD, and/or Artswells Merchandise.
Arranging for Donation Receipts
A “Donation Receipt Request Form” is available upon request. Please copy and distribute these forms to your guests, then gather them, along with donations, and forward them to IMA. If you have cash donations, please deposit these in your own account and write a cheque to IMA, or use a money order. We will promptly prepare donation receipts and send these to everyone who contributed, along with a thank you.
