A four-day filmmaking and animation program for youth 12-18 years old!
In small teams participants will learn how to:
• use a video camera,
• set up lighting,
• compose a shot,
• create a plot around an issue of their choice
• do plasticine animation and
• translate these skills into the production of a powerful and insightful film.
Students are introduced to Final Cut Pro editing software and work with a professional editor during the completion of their film. Youth leave the workshop with confidence in their filmmaking skills; excited about the film they created, and empowered to use media as a tool for creating positive social change.
The video shorts made during the course will be hosted on ReelYouth.ca and uploaded to You Tube. They will also be entered into the Reel Youth Film Festival, a youth juried film festival touring Canada and parts of the States in the fall of 2008.
