Please do not be late for class.  During these sessions students will be producing 8 x 10 sketches on site.   Clark  will do an hour long demonstration on the first class.

While working on the sketches students will be encouraged to eliminate details and work directly from the palette to canvas.  Students will draw with paint.

Working from the palette is key and students will be encouraged to find colour on the palette using their knife, before transferring it to the canvas.  Clean painting habits is important and good studio practice will be encouraged. Creating gesture and texture will also be encouraged.  Having fun and exploring colour and method is key. The painting could act as a colour guide for the final larger more detailed painting.  A photo of the site taken during the sketch would provide detailed information for this larger  work.   Creating one sketch should take between 1 - 3 hours.
